How to perform

Lower your body until upper arms are parallel to the floor, keeping elbows close to your body. Pause briefly, then push through your palms to extend your elbows and raise back up, squeezing your triceps at the top. Maintain core engagement and a neutral spine throughout.

Muscles Worked

Anterior Delts
Secondary: Lower Chest, Traps (3, 10): Lower Traps

Tips

To minimize shoulder stress and maximize triceps engagement, actively tuck your elbows towards your sides throughout the movement. Consciously depress your shoulder blades and pull them down and back to create a stable upper back and prevent rounding. Engage your core muscles by drawing your belly button towards your spine to stabilize your torso and protect your lower back. Keep your chest lifted and open to promote proper upper body alignment and prevent hunching. Lower your body with control, resisting the urge to drop quickly, to ensure you're engaging your triceps and maintaining good form.
