Engage your core and brace your abs. Exhale as you laterally flex your torso upward, lifting your rib cage toward your hip. Contract your obliques at the top and pause. Inhale as you slowly lower back to the starting position, controlling the descent.
Initiate the movement by leading your rib cage towards your hip, focusing on a lateral rotation rather than just bending over. Keep your hips stable and anchored to the ground to prevent unwanted rotation or swaying during the exercise. Position your elbows wide to avoid any unnecessary strain on your neck and ensure a full oblique contraction. Maintain a consistent brace in your core throughout the entire range of motion to protect your spine and maximize oblique engagement. Control the lowering phase to maintain tension and prevent momentum from taking over, ensuring a more effective workout.
