How to perform

Press the barbell overhead to full arm extension, bar over midfoot. Brace your core, maintain a neutral spine, and take controlled, heel-to-toe steps forward while keeping your torso upright. Hold the bar steady, then carefully rerack.

Tips

Ensure your elbows are fully locked out at the top of the movement to maximize overhead strength and stability. Actively pack your shoulders down and back throughout the exercise to prevent rounding and protect your shoulder joints. Maintain a tight core by drawing your ribs down and engaging your abdominal muscles to stabilize your spine and transfer power efficiently. Focus your eyes on a fixed point ahead to help maintain balance and a consistent posture during the walk. Take small, controlled steps, ensuring each heel strikes the ground before the toe to promote stability and prevent overextension. Stay tall by resisting the urge to lean forward or backward, keeping your chest open and your body aligned.
