Maintain a slight elbow bend and upright chest. Pull handles upward and inward in a wide arc to chest height, squeezing your upper chest. Slowly lower handles back to the starting position, maintaining cable tension.
Focus on leading with your chest muscles throughout the movement to ensure they are the primary drivers of the exercise; imagine pushing your chest forward as you pull. Initiate the pull by scooping your shoulder blades upward and inward, creating a stable base and engaging your back muscles for optimal control. Keep your elbows relatively fixed throughout the movement to isolate the chest muscles and prevent unwanted shoulder involvement. At the peak of the contraction, consciously squeeze your upper chest muscles as hard as possible to maximize muscle activation and achieve a strong, defined contraction.
