How to perform

Engage your core, slightly bend your standing knee, and swing the opposite leg forward from the hip in a controlled arc. Allow the leg to swing back past the standing leg without arching your back, maintaining smooth hip movement. Switch legs after completing reps.

Tips

To maximize the hip flexor engagement, initiate the leg swing purely from the hip joint, avoiding any knee movement during the motion. Actively tighten your core muscles throughout the exercise to stabilize your torso and prevent lower back strain, ensuring a strong and controlled movement. A slight bend in the standing knee helps maintain balance and allows for a more fluid range of motion, reducing stress on the joints. Focus on controlling the swing throughout the entire range of motion, resisting the urge to rush through the movement and ensuring proper muscle activation. Prevent torso rotation by keeping your shoulders square and focused on a fixed point in front of you, which will isolate the hip flexor work. Continuously monitor your balance and make small adjustments as needed to maintain a stable and upright posture throughout the exercise.
