Anchor your resistance bands and initiate the movement by drawing your arms outward, keeping a slight bend in your elbows. As your hands move towards your sides, focus on drawing your shoulder blades together to engage your upper back muscles. Hold briefly at the point of greatest contraction, then slowly ease the bands back to the starting position while controlling the resistance. Throughout the exercise, maintain an upright posture and keep your core muscles braced.
Really concentrate on squeezing your shoulder blades together during the pull to ensure your upper back muscles are doing the work. Actively press your shoulders down away from your ears to avoid tension in your neck and better isolate the target muscles. A slight bend in your elbows will protect your joints and allow for a more fluid movement. Keep your chest lifted and open to help maintain proper shoulder alignment and prevent hunching. Control the return phase of the movement, resisting the band’s pull to build strength and muscle stamina.
