How to perform

Contract your hamstring to pull one heel towards your glute, keeping the knee slightly forward. Simultaneously, pump the opposite arm forward as if running. Land softly on the ball of your foot under your hips, then immediately alternate legs and arms in a rhythmic motion.

Muscles Worked

Glute Max
Secondary: Gastrocnemius, Rectus Abdominis, Quads

Tips

Engage your hamstrings to initiate the leg movement, avoiding excessive arm swinging to maintain balance and control. Actively brace your core throughout the exercise to stabilize your torso and prevent lower back strain. Focus on landing softly on the balls of your feet to absorb impact and protect your joints, ensuring a controlled descent. Maintain an upright posture with a neutral spine, avoiding leaning forward or backward to optimize form and prevent injury. Coordinate your arm movements by pumping them opposite your legs, which helps drive the rhythm and momentum of the exercise.
