How to perform

Lower the dumbbell behind your head by bending your elbows, keeping your upper arms still. Lower until your forearms are parallel to the floor. Extend your elbows to raise the dumbbell overhead, squeezing your triceps at the top. Avoid locking your elbows throughout the movement.

Muscles Worked

Triceps
Secondary: Anterior Delts, Flexors, Rectus Abdominis

Tips

To protect your elbows and shoulders, keep your elbows close to your head throughout the exercise, maintaining a controlled path. Actively engage your core muscles to stabilize your torso and prevent excessive arching or rounding of your back. Focus on a slow, controlled descent, resisting the weight as you lower the dumbbell to maximize muscle engagement and prevent injury. Fully squeeze your triceps at the top of the movement to ensure you're activating the target muscle and achieving a complete contraction.
