Engage your core, keeping your upper arm perpendicular. Lower the dumbbell in an arc by bending at the elbow until your forearm is nearly parallel to the floor. Pause, feel the stretch, then extend your elbow to press the weight back up, squeezing your triceps at the top. Alternate arms.
To isolate your triceps, focus on keeping your upper arm stable and preventing it from swaying during the movement, which will ensure the targeted muscle is doing the work. Visualize your elbow pointing towards the ceiling throughout the exercise to maintain proper arm alignment and maximize triceps engagement. Really focus on squeezing your triceps hard at the top of the movement to fully contract the muscle and enhance muscle definition. Pay attention to the path of the dumbbell, maintaining a controlled arc to ensure a consistent and effective triceps workout.
