How to perform

Lower the bar in an arc behind your head, feeling a stretch in your lats and chest, keeping elbows slightly bent. Exhale and pull the bar back over your chest, engaging your lats and chest. Maintain a tight core to prevent arching your back. Return to the starting position without fully extending your elbows.

Tips

Maintaining a slight bend in your elbows throughout the movement helps to protect your joints and ensures a more controlled, deliberate action, preventing any sudden jerks or strain. Engage your core muscles throughout the entire exercise by drawing your belly button towards your spine to stabilize your torso and protect your lower back from excessive arching. Focus on a smooth, controlled arc motion, visualizing the path of the bar and ensuring it doesn't swing wildly, which can compromise form and reduce effectiveness. Initiate the pulling phase with your lat muscles, consciously squeezing them to drive the movement and maximize their contribution to the exercise.
