Exhale, pull handles in a wide arc to center, squeezing your chest and meeting your hands. Inhale as you slowly return to the starting position, maintaining a slight elbow bend and forward lean. Alternate hand crossover on each repetition.
To maximize chest activation, focus on forcefully squeezing your pectoral muscles at the peak of the contraction, ensuring a strong and deliberate feeling. Maintaining a slight bend in your elbows throughout the movement helps protect your joints and allows for a more controlled range of motion, preventing hyperextension. Initiate the movement by leading with your elbows, drawing them forward and down to guide the handles, rather than relying on your hands to pull – this ensures proper muscle engagement. Keep your spine neutral and your core engaged to maintain a stable posture and avoid unnecessary strain on your lower back. Control the return phase of the exercise by resisting the pull of the handles, engaging your chest muscles to slowly lower the weight and maintain tension.
