Engage your core and keep your back straight. Flex your spine, contracting your abs to pull the band down in an arc towards your knees. Bring your rib cage towards your pelvis, avoiding hip bend. Pause briefly at the bottom to squeeze your abs, then slowly return to the starting position, resisting the band's pull. Inhale as you extend.
Maintain a tight core throughout the entire exercise to protect your lower back and maximize abdominal engagement. Initiate the movement from your abs, focusing on spinal flexion, rather than relying on arm momentum, which will ensure you're targeting the correct muscles. Keep your back straight and avoid arching, as this can put unnecessary stress on your spine and reduce the effectiveness of the exercise. Allow your knees to remain soft and slightly bent to accommodate the range of motion and prevent locking. Pause briefly at the bottom of the movement to consciously squeeze your abdominal muscles, enhancing core activation and control. Control the return to the starting position, resisting the band's pull to build strength and maintain proper form.
