How to perform

Hinge at the hips, rotating your torso to reach one hand across your body towards the opposite foot. Keep legs straight and return to the upright position with control, then immediately alternate to the other side.

Muscles Worked

Erector Spinae
Secondary: Glute Max, External Obliques, Rectus Abdominis

Tips

To maximize the stretch and engage your core, focus on keeping your legs as straight as possible throughout the movement, avoiding bending at the knees. Initiate the exercise by hinging at your hips, pushing your glutes back as if closing a car door, which will help you maintain a neutral spine. As you reach, consciously rotate through your spine, not just your shoulders, to deepen the stretch and improve mobility. Control the movement throughout the entire range of motion, resisting the urge to swing or use momentum, to ensure proper form and prevent injury.
