Drive your elbow down towards your hip, pulling the handle to shoulder level. Squeeze your lats at the bottom, then control the weight back to full arm extension. Maintain a stable torso and complete all reps on one side before switching.
To initiate the pull effectively, focus on driving your elbow downwards towards your hip, visualizing pulling with your back muscles rather than just your arm strength; this ensures proper lat engagement. Keep your chest lifted throughout the movement to prevent rounding of the shoulders and maintain a strong, stable posture. Actively resist any tendency to rotate your torso during the pull, as this can shift the focus away from your lats and potentially strain your lower back. Control the weight during the eccentric (lowering) phase, resisting the pull of gravity to maximize muscle engagement and prevent momentum from taking over.
