How to perform

Position a barbell on a rack at shoulder level, then lift it off and secure it across your upper back. Keeping your back straight, press the weight directly upward until your arms are fully locked out, and then carefully lower it back down. This exercise primarily targets the shoulders and upper back muscles.

Muscles Worked

Front delt
Secondary: Triceps

Tips

Keep your head high and back straight during the entire lift. Actively engage your shoulder and upper back muscles to power the movement. Breathe in before the upward press and exhale as you extend your arms. If you experience instability, decrease the weight. Focus on controlled movements rather than speed.
