Lower the bar by bending your elbows, keeping your upper arms stationary and elbows tucked. Pause briefly at the bottom, then extend your elbows to press the bar back up, squeezing your triceps at full extension. Maintain control throughout the movement.
To maximize triceps engagement and prevent injury, keep your elbows tucked close to your body throughout the exercise, minimizing any outward flare. Ensure your upper arms remain as perpendicular to the floor as possible, which helps isolate the triceps muscle. Control the descent of the bar, resisting gravity to maintain tension and prevent momentum from taking over. At the top of the movement, actively squeeze your triceps muscles to achieve full contraction and maximize muscle activation. Avoid flaring your elbows out to the sides, as this can shift the focus to your shoulders and increase the risk of injury.
