Secure the kettlebell, toes slightly up. Dorsiflex your foot, pulling toes toward your shin, and squeeze the tibialis muscle for one second. Slowly lower the kettlebell back to the starting position, extending the foot. Maintain a stable leg, moving only at the ankle.
Toes should point upward to secure the kettlebell and maximize ankle range of motion, ensuring a focused effort on the tibialis anterior muscle. Control the kettlebell's descent to engage the muscle throughout the entire movement and avoid momentum, which can compromise form and reduce effectiveness. Keep your leg stable throughout the exercise, preventing any knee or hip movement, as this isolates the ankle joint and ensures proper muscle activation. At the top of the movement, flex your foot powerfully, squeezing the tibialis anterior muscle to fully contract and maximize the benefit of the exercise.
