Muscle outlines from Body Muscles by Ivan Vulović, Apache 2.0 — regrouped and recoloured for Muscle Train.
Initiate the movement by driving your elbows up, keeping the kettlebell close to your body. Continue the motion, pulling the kettlebell to chest level. Squeeze your shoulder blades at the top, then lower the kettlebell slowly and with control.
To maximize power and prevent injury, lead the movement with your elbows, focusing on pulling the kettlebell upwards rather than relying solely on arm strength; maintaining this elbow position throughout the exercise ensures proper engagement of your back muscles. Keep the kettlebell close to your body at all times, as this minimizes momentum and increases the challenge to your core and stabilizing muscles. Actively squeeze your shoulder blades together at the peak of the movement to fully engage your upper back muscles and promote good posture. Lower the kettlebell slowly and with controlled movements to maintain tension in your muscles and prevent momentum from taking over, which can compromise form and increase injury risk. Finally, consciously maintain a neutral spine throughout the entire exercise to protect your lower back and ensure optimal power transfer.
