How to perform

To perform the standing barbell calf raise, position a block in front of you and place a barbell across your upper back. Stand on the block with your toes on the edge, then elevate your heels, contracting your calf muscles. Lower your heels with control, stopping just before they touch the floor, and repeat.

Tips

Ensure your toes remain on the block’s edge throughout the movement. Avoid pushing your feet forward, as this reduces the exercise's effectiveness. Maintain a slow, deliberate tempo to maximize muscle engagement. Focus your gaze forward to help stabilize your balance.
