Exhale, pull the rope up, leading with your elbows and flaring them out. Keep elbows higher than wrists, rope close to your body, and squeeze shoulder blades at the top. Inhale as you slowly lower the rope.
To maximize effectiveness and prevent injury, initiate the pull by driving your elbows upward, focusing on engaging your back muscles rather than just pulling with your arms. Ensure your elbows remain higher than your wrists throughout the movement, which helps to maintain proper shoulder alignment and prevents wrist strain. At the peak of the movement, actively squeeze your shoulder blades together towards your chest to fully contract your back muscles and enhance the exercise's benefits. Maintain an upright posture throughout the exercise, resisting the urge to lean back or rotate your torso, as this ensures the focus remains on your back muscles. Control the descent of the rope, resisting gravity to engage your muscles throughout the entire range of motion and prevent momentum from taking over.
