How to perform

Rotate your torso away from the machine, pulling the handle across your body. Keep arms straight, engage your core, and pause briefly at the end of the rotation to feel oblique contraction. Slowly return to the starting position, maintaining a neutral spine and stable hips. Alternate sides.

Tips

To maximize oblique engagement, initiate the twisting motion from your core, focusing on rotating your ribcage rather than just moving your arms. Maintain a tall spine throughout the exercise by engaging your abdominal muscles and avoiding rounding or arching your back. Keep your arms extended straight to isolate the oblique muscles and prevent shoulder involvement. Ensure your hips remain stable and avoid excessive swaying or rotation to protect your lower back and focus the work on your obliques. Coordinate your breathing with the movement, exhaling as you twist and inhaling as you return to the starting position, which can help control the pace and deepen the contraction.
