Muscle outlines from Body Muscles by Ivan Vulović, Apache 2.0 — regrouped and recoloured for Muscle Train.
Exhale, rotate your torso left, pulling the handle across your body. Keep arms extended, allowing hips and feet to pivot slightly. Rotate until the handle reaches hip height, pausing to engage your core. Inhale and return to the starting position, repeating on the right side.
To maximize the rotational force, initiate the movement by twisting from your deep core muscles, ensuring your arms follow the torso's rotation rather than leading it. Maintain a neutral spine throughout the exercise, avoiding excessive arching or rounding of your back to protect your lower back. Allow for a slight pivot of your hips and feet to facilitate a full and natural rotation, preventing stiffness and maximizing range of motion. Control the speed of the movement throughout the entire exercise, avoiding jerky motions that could compromise form and increase injury risk. Fully engage your abdominal muscles throughout the entire movement to stabilize your spine and enhance core strength, feeling the contraction as you rotate.
