Muscle outlines from Body Muscles by Ivan Vulović, Apache 2.0 — regrouped and recoloured for Muscle Train.
Engage core, lift hips to align from shoulders to knees. Extend arms forward, palms together. Slowly twist torso, rotating through your stomach and shoulders while keeping arms straight. Pause, squeezing obliques. Reverse to center, then alternate sides. Maintain elevated hips and a straight back.
To maximize oblique engagement, actively brace your core throughout the exercise, drawing your belly button towards your spine to create a stable base. Initiate the twist by rotating from your torso, focusing on pivoting through your obliques rather than simply bending at the waist. Keep your hips lifted throughout the movement to prevent excessive arching or rounding of the lower back, ensuring a consistent body alignment. Maintain a straight back by resisting the urge to hunch or collapse, which will help isolate the twisting motion and protect your spine. Control the twisting motion throughout the entire range of motion, avoiding jerky or rushed movements to fully engage the muscles and prevent injury.
