Exhale, extend your arm overhead, keeping your upper arm still. Squeeze your triceps at full extension. Inhale, slowly lower the band behind your head. Maintain core engagement and a neutral spine; switch arms after each set.
Keep your elbow close to your head throughout the movement to maximize triceps activation and prevent shoulder strain, focusing on a controlled path. Ensure your upper arm remains stationary throughout the exercise, as movement there indicates improper form or a need to reduce the resistance. Brace your core muscles to stabilize your spine and prevent lower back arching or rounding, which will improve power transfer and protect your joints. Lower the band with control, resisting the pull to avoid momentum and ensure a full range of motion. At the top of the movement, consciously squeeze your triceps to fully engage the muscle and feel the contraction.
