Straddle front lever

Back
🔧 Pull up bar ⏱ sec Difficulty:

How to perform

Secure a shoulder-width grip on the bar with your arms completely straight and position your body directly beneath it. Activate your upper back by drawing your shoulder blades down and back while tightening your core and lats to create absolute full-body tension. Shift your body weight smoothly onto your lats by leaning your torso backward while simultaneously lifting your hips and spreading your legs wide into a straight straddle position. Maintain this horizontal alignment for your targeted timeframe, terminating the set immediately at the first sign of sagging or technical breakdown. Guide your body back down toward the floor using a deliberate cadence and cushion your landing safely with your feet.

Tips

Utilize a low bar if available to make the initial setup more accessible and conserve energy for the actual hold rather than wasting effort during the entry phase Forcefully rotate your shoulders outward throughout the execution to maximize joint stability and optimize your leveraging power Keep your shoulder blades pinned firmly downward and pulled together into deep retraction to protect your upper back and stay parallel to the floor Position the bar across the center of your palms and the base of your fingers, increasing your squeezing pressure as you transition into the horizontal hold Maintain a slight forward flex in your wrists to recruit your forearm muscles more heavily and reinforce your connection to the bar
