How to perform

Adjust the incline bench to a moderate angle, between 30 and 45 degrees. Position yourself face down on the bench, ensuring your chest is well-supported and your feet are stable. With a grip slightly wider than your shoulders, hold the barbell with an overhand grip, allowing it to hang straight down. Engage your back and arm muscles to draw the barbell towards your chest, squeezing your shoulder blades together as you bend your elbows.

Tips

Keep your spine in a natural, straight alignment throughout the movement. Focus on actively squeezing your shoulder blades together at the peak of the lift. Resist the urge to swing or use momentum; prioritize controlled movements. Maintain a slight bend in your elbows as you lower the weight to protect your joints. A firm, but not excessively tight, grip will help maintain stability.
