How to perform

Lie back on an incline bench with a dumbbell in each hand, held at your hips. Slowly lower the weights outward until your arms are roughly parallel to the floor, keeping a slight bend in your elbows. Press the dumbbells back up, focusing on contracting your chest muscles to the starting position.

Muscles Worked

Pectoralis major
Secondary: Triceps, Front delt

Tips

Adjust the bench incline to around 30 degrees for comfort. Hold the dumbbells with a relaxed grip to reduce arm activation. Maintain a slight bend in your elbows throughout the entire range of motion. Draw your shoulder blades together and avoid dropping the weights too low to safeguard your shoulders. Keep your core braced and your feet firmly planted.
