Tips

To properly initiate the movement, focus on leading with your elbows, ensuring they move outwards rather than your hands. Maintaining a 90-degree bend in your elbows throughout the exercise helps isolate the shoulder muscles and prevents hyperextension. Consciously keep your shoulders down and away from your ears to avoid shrugging and maximize shoulder engagement. Engage your core muscles to stabilize your torso and prevent excessive arching or rounding of the back. Lower the weights with a controlled tempo, resisting the pull of gravity to build strength and muscle endurance.
