How to perform

Exhale, rotate your torso, and lift the dumbbell diagonally toward your opposite shoulder. Keep arms extended with a slight elbow bend, tracking the dumbbell with your eyes. Fully extend at the top, maintaining a neutral spine. Inhale as you control the dumbbell back to the starting position, resisting momentum.

Tips

Initiate the movement by driving the rotation from your core, engaging your obliques to power the lift. Keep your hips square to the floor throughout the exercise to prevent excessive lower back rotation and ensure a controlled movement. Focus your eyes on the dumbbell as it travels across your body, which helps maintain proper arm and torso alignment. Maintain a tall posture by engaging your glutes and keeping your shoulders pulled down and back, preventing rounding of the upper back. Control the dumbbell's descent, resisting the urge to let it drop quickly, to maximize muscle engagement and prevent injury.
