Press dumbbell upward in an arc, extending arm fully without locking the elbow. Squeeze your chest at the top, then lower the dumbbell slowly to the chest side while maintaining a tight core.
Keep your core engaged throughout the movement to stabilize your torso and prevent unwanted rotation, which will help isolate the chest muscles. Position your elbows at a 45-degree angle to your body to target the chest effectively and reduce stress on your shoulder joints; avoid letting them flare out too wide. Perform the press in a slight arc to mimic the natural movement of the chest muscles and maximize engagement. Maintain a neutral grip on the dumbbell throughout the exercise, ensuring your wrists are straight and your palms face each other to prevent strain. Be mindful of your body alignment and avoid twisting or rotating your torso during the exercise, as this can shift the focus away from your chest and potentially lead to injury.
