Exhale, raise arms to the sides until elbows are shoulder-height. Maintain a slight elbow bend, leading with the elbows. Briefly pause and squeeze shoulders at the top. Inhale as you slowly lower kettlebells.
To effectively engage your shoulder muscles, initiate the movement by leading with your elbows, ensuring they move outward first. Maintaining a slight bend in your elbows throughout the exercise prevents hyperextension and protects your joints, allowing for a more controlled and sustainable range of motion. Focus on keeping your spine neutral throughout the movement, avoiding any arching or rounding, and engage your core to stabilize your body. As you reach the peak of the movement, consciously squeeze your shoulder blades together to maximize muscle activation and enhance the effectiveness of the exercise. Lower the kettlebells with control, resisting the urge to drop quickly, which helps maintain tension in the muscles and improves overall strength.
