How to perform

Create cable tension, then exhale and raise your arm to the side, leading with your elbow. Lift until your arm is parallel to the floor, pause, and squeeze your lateral deltoid. Inhale as you slowly lower your arm, maintaining a slight elbow bend. Switch sides after completing your reps.

Tips

To initiate the movement, focus on leading with your elbow, ensuring your arm follows naturally and prevents shoulder strain. Engage your core muscles throughout the exercise to stabilize your torso and prevent excessive arching or twisting. At the peak of the movement, consciously squeeze your lateral deltoid to maximize muscle activation and feel the contraction. Avoid using momentum to swing your arm; instead, control the movement throughout the entire range of motion. Maintain a slight bend in your elbow to reduce joint stress and allow for a more fluid motion. Remain upright with a neutral spine, avoiding leaning or shifting your weight to maintain proper form and balance.
