Exhale, bring handles to your chest. Squeeze your chest muscles at the center. Inhale, slowly return to start, stopping before contact to maintain tension. Keep a slight elbow bend.
Focus on squeezing your chest muscles intensely at the peak contraction to maximize muscle engagement and ensure you're targeting the correct area. Maintain a slight bend in your elbows throughout the movement to avoid locking out your joints and reduce the risk of injury, which allows for a more controlled and safer execution. Ensure your upper back remains firmly pressed against the pad to provide stability and prevent unwanted movement during the exercise. Control the eccentric (lowering) phase of the movement by resisting the weight's pull, which builds strength and improves muscle control. Avoid shrugging your shoulders during the exercise, as this can shift the focus away from your chest and potentially strain your neck and upper back; keep your shoulders relaxed and down.
