Pull handles down and across your chest in an arc, contracting your chest muscles. Meet hands at lower chest level, squeezing your pectorals. Slowly reverse to the starting position, maintaining tension. Keep your core braced and body stable.
Focus on squeezing your chest muscles tightly at the bottom of the movement to maximize pectoral engagement and ensure proper muscle activation. Keep your elbows slightly bent throughout the exercise to maintain control and reduce stress on your joints, preventing locking or hyperextension. Visualize an arc-shaped path for the handles, avoiding a straight-line pull, to target the chest muscles more effectively and promote a greater range of motion. Actively depress your shoulder blades, drawing your shoulders down and back, to create a stable base and prevent upper trap recruitment. Pay attention to feeling a stretch in your chest at the top of the movement, which indicates you're fully engaging the muscle and achieving a complete range of motion.
